Urine Drug Testing Result Interpretation Guidelines
- A "Positive" urine drug test result indicates that the donor was exposed to the identified drug at some point prior to the collection of the specimen. It does not indicate that the donor was under the influence of the drug at the time of the specimen collection.
- A "Negative" urine drug test result indicates that there were no drugs present at or above the cutoff levels used. It only indicates that no drugs were detected in that particular testing panel.
- A "Dilute" urine drug test result is not a valid result. As a person can intentionally attempt to interfere with a specimen by diluting, the test is recommended to be recollected immediately as an observed specimen. The state of Indiana revokes probation based on a person submitting two dilute specimens.
